Stern Drive First Service

10-20 hours

Check the following

    battery and connections
    hoses, belts, and clamps
    all electrical connections for corrosion and tightness
    ignition system
    gauges for proper operation
    operation of throttle control box
    engine for proper readings and codes, adjust if needed

Run motor to check for any leaks and running condition
Torque intake and exhaust manifolds.  Clean spark arrester if needed

Change the following

    engine oil and filter(s)
    fuel filter(s)
    Stern Drive gear oil

Top off power steering and trim fluid, if needed
Grease all zerk fittings, steering and control cables
Remove stern drive and check U-joints, gimble bearings and drive alignment
Remove prop, grease shaft, and re-torque prop
Record engine hours

Stern Drive 50 hour Service

Each 50 hours

Same as 10-20 hour service, but additionally lube or oil trailer buddies

Stern Drive Yearly Service

Once per year or every 100 hours

Same as 50 hour service but additionally

Check the following items

    operation of throttle control box
    spark plug wires
    check and record compression of cylinders
    trailer brake fluid; fill if needed

Replace water pump impeller, gaskets and o-rings

Outboard First Service

10-20 hours

Check the following items

    battery and connections
    water pressure
    electrical connections for corrosion and tightness
    gauges for proper operation

Change engine oil and filters
Change drive oil
Replace fuel filter
Run engine to check for any leaks and running condition
Check steering, grease steering and control cables/check hydraulic fluid, if equipped
Grease prop shaft
Record engine hours

Outboard 50 hour Service

Each 50 hours

Same as Outboard First Service, but to be performed every 50 hours of use

Inboard First Service

10-20 hours

Check the following

    battery and connections
    hoses, belts, and clamps
    electrical connections for corrosion and tightness
    ignition system
    gauges for proper operation
    operation of throttle control box
    engine for proper readings and codes, adjust if needed
    hydraulic fluid if equipped
    torque intake and exhaust manifolds.  Clean spark arrester if needed

Change engine oil and filter(s)
Change fuel filter(s)
Change transmission fluid
Check and adjust alignment
Grease all zerk fittings, steering and control cables
Re-torque shaft coupler bolts
Run motor to check for any leaks and running condition
Record engine hours

Inboard 50 hour Service

each 50 hours

Same as 10-20 hour service, additionally lube or oil trailer buddies

Inboard Yearly Service

Once per year or every 100 hours

Same as 50 hour service, additionally
Check and record compression of cylinders
Replace in tank fuel filter, if equipped
Replace impeller and gasket or o-ring
Grease rudder port
Re-torque prop nut
Check trailer brake fluid; fill if needed

Winterization

Before winter or first freeze each year

Run engine and fog cylinders
Drain engine block/manifolds/transmission coolers/pumps/heaters/showers/toilets
Remove drain plug
Disconnect batteries
Change engine oil. Filter change if needed
Add antifreeze, if needed

Activation

After final freeze each year

    Drain antifreeze
    Run engine
    Check engine oil
    Flush pumps/heater/shower/toilets
    Connect batteries
    Install drain plug

Trailer Service

Every two years

    Check brakes shoes/drums/pads/rotors, replace if needed
    Check brake fluid, add or replace as needed
    Inspect trailer undercarriage
    Check tire pressure and tread wear
    Check wheel bearings, oil or replace as needed
    Check wheel lug tightness
    Check and replace/repair lights as needed
    Check winch strap or cable, replace as needed
